PERIOD.project presents WOMEN.Project. A collaborative photography exhibition by women artists that brings together diverse visual perspectives on womanhood, identity, empowerment, resilience, menstrual dignity, and social justice. Through photography and visual storytelling, the exhibition transforms silence into dialogue, creating space for shared experiences while celebrating the many realities of women’s lives.
In keeping with the festival’s 2026 theme, TRUTH, WOMEN.Project explores photography as both evidence and testimony in the face of cultural taboos surrounding women. Intimate portraits and collective works reveal the tension between shame and empowerment, invisibility and visibility. Truth-telling becomes an act of reclamation, making visible the lived realities of girls and women whose voices are too often overlooked.

WOMEN.Project will open at artHarare on 29 August 2026 as part of the Women’s Month programme, inviting audiences into a collective exhibition that sparks conversation, encourages education, and amplifies women’s voices through the power of photography.

WOMEN.Project is an extension of PERIOD.project, a visual storytelling initiative by photographer Eveline Gerritsen that raises awareness around women’s empowerment, identity, menstrual dignity, and period poverty. The project begins with Eveline’s solo exhibition at Bertha House on 22 August 2026, before expanding into the collaborative exhibition at artHarare, allowing the conversation to grow through the perspectives of multiple women photographers and visual artists.
