Sean Wilson is a Cape Town based photographer who works primarily with analogue photographic processes. His various personal projects explore the intersection between the literal and the symbolic. His approach to the medium is fundamentally experimental. Besides focusing on personal projects, Sean also works in various genres of commercial photography. He also offers studio portrait sessions using the Nineteenth Century Process, Wet Plate Collodion.

“My experience of the world is that it is fundamentally mysterious and I feel compelled to make photographs that attempt to reflect this. The photographs that come closest to satisfying me act as a salve or an antidote to the dissociation that hasn’t haunted me at times. Through ongoing experimentation and the embracing of the felix culpa of the processes that I’m drawn to, I aspire to discover new ways making sense of myself and the world around me”.
